IHSA changes mind on Nike

In a reversal of its earlier ruling, the IHSA has decided it is OK after all for Illinois track and field athletes to compete in the Nike Indoor Nationals scheduled for this weekend in Boston.

IHSA executive director Marty Hickman had initially said waivers wouldn’t be granted for participation in the meet because, the IHSA believed, it wasn’t run by the sport’s governing body. But after learning that USA Track and Field is indeed in charge of the meet, the IHSA relented.
