According to a source inside the division, former Carmel Catholic dugout boss Chuck Gandolfi is one of the candidates in the running for the Lakes High School baseball coaching position.

Bill Rosencrans was let go at Lakes after guiding the Eagles to their first two division titles and a 46-25 record (20-4 in the NSC Prairie) in his two seasons.

Gandolfi, an IHSBCA Hall of Fame inductee, was dismissed at Carmel late last summer after averaging 27 wins per season in 21 years with the Corsairs. Gandolfi was released following incidents that occurred while he was coaching the Lake County Lightning, an unofficial Carmel feeder program of sorts, in the summer of ’09.
