All-state wide receiver Kyle Prater of Proviso West has decided to remain with his original verbal commitment to play football next season at Southern California, according to today’s Sporting News Today.

Previously, Prater said he gave a “soft” commitment to USC, but recent coaching issues at Illinois and Notre Dame have not changed his mind.

On Dec. 2, Prater was named one of seven finalists for the U.S. Army’s national player of the year.
