Whitney Young girls basketball player D’Frantz Smart, considered one of the best players in the Public League, orally committed to Rice over the weekend. The 5-0 senior point guard led the Dolphins to three consecutive Public League titles and averaged 15 points, three steals and four assists per game last season.

Man’s body found hours after ‘horrific’ West Side fire left his aunt, 75, critically hurt and 2 cops trapped in porch collapse
The missing man’s body was found about 10:15 a.m., said fire spokesman Larry Langford. He was found not too far from the front door. “He must have been trying to get out.”
