The million dollar field

The athletic teams will be playing on one very costly field at Oak Park Stadium. Construction on Artificial Surface ll is currently underway. Artificial Surface l needed to be replaced after the administration at Oak Park-River Forest finally agreed it was unplayable and dangerous. It’s never a good sign when pieces of a field can easily be pulled up by hand. The company which installed Artificial Surface l went belly up as did any guarantees. The two surfaces combined came at a cost of more than $1 million dollars. Please don’t tell me the price tag will be covered by the money the school saves on maintenance. Yankee Stadium doesn’t get that much maintenance. What could the district have done with a $1 million bucks. Administrators could go to those all importance conventions. Sorry. They still do that. Hire another teacher or two. Sorry. More than two teachers could be hired with that kind of money. Administrators? Not so much. How about not spending the money and giving it back to the taxpayers. Now that was funny. I have one other idea. Lights for the stadium.
