There is no better singer of our National Anthem – nobody – than the Chicago Blackhawks’ peerless Jim Cornelison.

Cornelison, who goes by Anthem_Singer on Twitter, joined Stephen Colbert on Thursday night’s ‘The Colbert Report’ to close the show out with a stunning, stirring September 11 take on the song. Watch:

Colbert, a Northwestern and Second City alum, clearly knows what Chicagoans do – Cornelison is as good as it gets. So listen, then repeat.
