(BUFFALO GROVE) A northwest suburban home was deemed uninhabitable after a car was driven into its closed garage Friday morning.

Rescue crews responded to the crash about 10:20 a.m. at the home in the 1200 block of Ranchview Court in Buffalo Grove, fire department officials said.

The car damaged the garage door and part of the surrounding structure, Buffalo Grove Fire Department Chief Terry Varra said at the scene.

Technical crews were “shoring up” the home so they could safely pull the car out without causing more damage, Varra said.

No one was injured, Varra said. The driver’s age and gender were not immediately known.

Varra said it was not known if the car was coming out or going toward the garage when the crash happened.

By 11:30 a.m., the structure was declared uninhabitable, Varra said.
