Marmion 17, St. Francis 13: Junior fullback Lucas Warren’s second touchdown run of the game with 6:53 remaining helped the Cadets rally from a 13-11 deficit then defensive back Sean Campbell intercepted a Spartan pass in the endzone with less than 30 seconds left to seal the win in the Chicago Catholic League Green debut. Warren finished the night with 108 yards rushing on 22 carries in a battle of unbeatens. Connor Hoeft added a 36-yard field goal for Marmion (3-0, 1-0).

Yorkville 38, Rochelle 24: Mike Kurtz ran 39 times for 251 yards and four touchdowns and QB Nathan Scott ran for another as the Foxes won their Northern Illinois Big 12 East opener. Yorkville (3-0) broke from an 8-8 tie at halftime to send the Hubs to their first loss of the season.

Rich Central 14, Kaneland 13: The Knights (2-1) dominated the stat sheet but came up short when Drew Franklin’s 30-yard game-winning field goal attempt was barely wide right as time ran out. He earlier kicked field goals of 25 and 30 yards. Tyler Paulson had a 20-yard scoring run for Kaneland, which had a 322-185 edge in total yards. QB Jake Marczuk (13-25) passed for 109 yards and ran 31 times for 158 to lead the Knights.

Batavia 49, Larkin 6: Blake Crowder ran five times for 91 yards and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0) cruised in their Upstate Eight River opener. Batavia led by the final score at half, prompting a running clock to start the second half.

Geneva 46, Streamwood 12: Justin Taormina ran 16 times for 129 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Vikings (3-0, 1-0) in UEC River play.

Aurora Central 21, Chicago Christian 7: The Chargers (3-0) got a 20-yard TD pass from QB Matt Rahn to Colin Baillie and scoring runs of two yards from Brandon Babler and one yard from Roman Padilla.

Plainfield North 16, Oswego East 7: The Wolves (1-2, 0-1) spotted the Tigers (2-1, 1-0 Southwest Prairie) a 14-0 first-quarter lead and came up short in another defensive struggle.

Manteno 12, Plano 7: Tony Elias-Cadena, who ran for 91 yards, staked the Reapers (1-2, 0-1) to an early lead with a 22-yard first-quarter scoring run but QB Ethan Kaufman ran for one score and passed for another to rally Manteno (3-0, 1-0).

Streator 45, Sandwich 26: RB Nick Harcar ran for a school-record 330 yards and three first-half TDs on runs of 26, 74 and 66 yards to lead the Bulldogs (1-2, 1-0) in their Interstate Eight Large debut. Kody Randa had scoring runs of 40 and 65 yards for Sandwich (0-3, 0-1).
