John Mayer is scheduled to headline the Food Network in Concert event at Ravinia Saturday.

Two of our most important senses — taste and hearing — will be well-stimulated at Ravinia Saturday when the North Shore musical venue teams up with the Food Network.

It’s all about the first-ever Food Network in Concert at Ravinia — featuring live music from John Mayer, “American Idol” Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips and delicious goodies prepared by Food Network stars like Sunny Anderson, Anne Burrell, Alex Guarnaschelli and Jeff Mauro — plus more than 50 of Chicago and the nation’s top chefs and mixologists.

Other musical stars set to perform include DJ Alexandra Richards, Twin Forks (with Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba), jazz artist Raul Midon, indie rockers California Wives, guitarist and singer Zane Carney and Pistol Annie’s member and country singer/songwriter Ashley Monroe.

From 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, performances will be presented on multiple musical stages, with lively cooking demos, wine and food tastings, panels and more foodie events taking place nearby.

The Food Network in Concert will benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, dedicated to ending childhood hunger.
