Pete Davidson has been selected as the only new featured player on “Saturday Night Live.”

He’s only 20 years of age, but fast-rising comic Pete Davidson is getting a big break. The New Yorker has been tapped by Lorne Michaels to be the only new featured player on the new season of “Saturday Night Live.”

Davidson, who was recently named by Variety as among “10 Comics To Watch,” started doing comedy at the age of 16.

He will join Michael Che, “The Daily Show” correspondent and SNL writer, as a new face onscreen at the long-running Saturday night sketch comedy TV franchise. Che is replacing Cecily Strong on the “Weekend Update” desk.

Last season, there were six new featured players, but four of them will not be back on TV this year, including Brooks Wheelan (who claims he was fired), Noel Wells and John Milhiser. Patrick O’Brien, who spent four years as an “SNL” writer before becoming a featured player last season, has been moved back into the writers room for 2014-15.
