A special collection of reproductions of famous Vincent van Gogh masterpieces — certified by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam — go on display in Chicago.

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam — in partnership with Fujifilm Belgium and U.S. distributor Tribute International — has organized an American debut of museum-certified editions of masterpieces created by the famous Dutch artist, Vincent van Gogh. Collectively named the Van Gogh Museum Edition, the collection includes such iconic paintings as Almond Blossoms, Boulevard de Clichy, The Harvest, Sunflowers and Wheatfield Under Thunderclouds.

Fully endorsed by van Gogh’s great, great grandnephew, Willem van Gogh, an advisor to the museum’s board, these pieces are virtually identical to the original paintings when hang in the Amsterdam museum.

Longtime Chicago gallery owner Shell Reyes — in association with Kai Koto Galleries of Chicago — is representing these limited edition masterpieces and is hosting a special preview event at Perillo Rolls-Royce on Rush Street, beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday. Willem van Gogh is scheduled to be there as a special guest.

The pieces will be available for viewing after Thursday at the Kai Koto Galleries, 104 W. Oak Street.
