As those who frequent Chicago’s thousands of bars and taverns already know, the town is a pretty great place to booze — be it fancy boozing at The Aviary or lowdown boozing at any number of swell dives. And, of course, there are plenty of joints in between to suit just about every taste and sensibility.

In its current issue, GQ magazine concurs wholeheartedly, naming Chicago “The Greatest Drinking City in America.”

A lengthy rundown of what the publication considers top spots includes Bar DeVille, The Violet Hour, Scofflaw, Sportsman’s Club, Hopleaf and many others.
