A 17-year-old boy was shot Wednesday night in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The teenager was shot in the thigh about 11:45 p.m. in the 6700 block of South State, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said, citing preliminary information.

He was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, Alfaro said.
