WASHINGTON–President Barack Obama on Friday, along with Vice President Joe Biden launch”“It’s On Us” campaign, a new public awareness and action campaign designed to prevent sexual assault at colleges and universities, change the culture on our campuses, and better engage men in this effort,” according to the White House. Later, Obama speaks to the Democratic National Committee Women’s Leadership Forum, a fundraising group,at a hotel here.

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President and the Vice President will host an event in the East Room to launch the “It’s On Us” campaign, a new public awareness and action campaign designed to prevent sexual assault at colleges and universities, change the culture on our campuses, and better engage men in this effort. The event will be open press and streamed live on www.whitehouse.gov/live.

In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at the DNC’s annual Women’s Leadership Forum at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC.This event will be pooled for TV and open to pre-credentialed stills and correspondents.

In the evening, the President will travel to Camp David.The departure from the South Lawn is open press.

The Latest
A shooting left a 14-year-old boy dead and a 13-year-old boy wounded Thursday in Bronzeville on the South Side.
The teen was walking in the 5900 block of South La Salle Street about 2:25 a.m. when someone inside a blue minivan opened fire and continued south.
The victims were leaving a business in the 400 block of South Wells Street about 1:45 a.m. when they began arguing with someone who opened fire with a handgun.
A man and woman were on the sidewalk in the 4600 block of South Ellis Avenue about 10:40 p.m. when someone opened fire, striking them both.
