A person was stabbed outside an elementary school in the South Side Burnside neighborhood Tuesday morning, the first day of school for Chicago Public Schools students.

The female was cut in the face with an “unknown object” during an argument with another female in the 9100 block of South University at 9 a.m., police said.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition was stable, police said.

The incident happened outside Harold Washington Elementary School, where school was already in session, police said.
