Sounds like a bit of jealous rage may have played a role in Grammy-nominated R&B singer Keyshia Cole being arrested in the wee hours Friday on suspicion of battery.

According to the Los Angeles Police, the entertainer was arrested around 5 a.m. Friday after an individual initiated a private person’s arrest. Cole was booked, but then released on her own recognizance Friday afternoon.

According to TMZ, the singer allegedly assaulted a woman she encountered at the condominium occupied by a man Cole is currently dating.

So far, Cole nor her spokesfolks have responded to requests for comment on the incident.

Cole’s second album “Just Like You,” released in 2007 included the songs “Let It Go,” “I Remember” and “Heaven Sent.”
