Two shot in Back of the Yards

A man and a woman were wounded in a shooting that stemmed from an argument early Sunday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

A male was arguing with “several” people at a home in the 5400 block of South Justine and eventually left, police said. The male returned about 1:10 a.m. and began shooting, striking a 39-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, police said.

The woman had gunshot wounds to her buttocks and both legs, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition. The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was in good condition, police said.
