(MARKHAM) A 17-year-old south suburban girl died early Friday after a van crashed into a tree in south suburban Markham.

Jacquelyn White was killed in the crash in the 16200 block of South Park Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

White, of the 14900 block of Main Street in Harvey, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:12 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Friday determined she died from multiple injuries sustained when the van collided with the tree and her death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Markham police could not immediately provide further details Friday afternoon.
