WASHINGTON — Michelle Obama is making her debut on the ABC daytime talk show “The Chew.”

The network says a taped segment featuring the first lady talking about school nutrition and the benefits of cooking at home will air next Friday — Oct. 3.

She is joining co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz in their kitchen to discuss both issues.

Since 2010, Mrs. Obama has led a nationwide effort to combat childhood obesity.

The segment was taped this week when the first lady was in New York with President Barack Obama, who attended the U.N. General Assembly. —AP
