A man was shot Friday evening in Englewood on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 5 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Morgan, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said, citing preliminary information.

A 30-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the lower back and leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Sweeney said.
