A 45-year-old man died Tuesday of injuries he suffered in a Chatham neighborhood shooting more than a year ago on the South Side.
About 7 p.m. on May 11, 2013, Bobby Lee Battle was walking in the 8200 block of South Maryland when someone walked up and shot him in the back, chest and arm, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after the shooting, police said.
Battle was pronounced dead at 10:24 a.m. Tuesday at Bronzeville Park Skilled Nursing and Living Center, which was listed as his home address, authorities said.
An autopsy performed Saturday found that he died of complications of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
Police did not have an update on the investigation Saturday afternoon.
