(ELGIN) A 36-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash Saturday night in northwest suburban Elgin, police said.

About 7:20 p.m., William Maglares was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Bowes Road, near Nolan Road, when the bike rear-ended an SUV traveling in the same lane, according to a statement from Elgin Police.

Maglares was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash, police said.

Maglares, of Elgin, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police and the Kane County coroner’s office.

It was later revealed that Maglares had a blood alcohol content over the legal limit, police said.
