5 bodies found in home south of Provo

SPRINGVILLE, Utah — Authorities say five people have been found dead in a home near Provo.

Springville police spokesman Lt. Dave Caron says in a news release that the bodies were found about 8 p.m. MDT Saturday.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that police say the bodies are those of a couple and their three children.

Caron says that the cause of the deaths wasn’t immediately apparent to officers, but police don’t believe that there is any danger to the community.

He told the paper that firefighters tested the air and did not find any carbon monoxide, but added that the gas could have ventilated before the test.

No names were released. The Tribune reports that the parents were ages 36 and 37. Two boys were ages 14 and 11 and a girl was 12.

Springville is just south of Provo.
