Billy Crystal gave the lead eulogy at the Saturday memorial service for Robin Williams in San Francisco.

Some of Robin Williams’ closest friends — along with members of his family — gathered at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco Saturday for the late actor and comedian’s memorial service.

Billy Crystal, one of the Oscar winner’s dearest friends, offered up an emotional, touching — and yet humor-filled — tribute to his friend, in a longer version of the speech he gave at the Primetime Emmys.

Williams, who took his own life Aug. 11, was honored at the service by the attendance of some of Hollywood’s best-known stars. Among those on hand were Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Stiller, Joel McHale, Seth Green, George Lucas, Josh Groban and Danny DeVito.

From the political world, San Francisco congresswoman and U.S. House minority leader Nancy Pelosi and California Gov. Jerry Brown also were present.

At the event, family members and friends of Williams were seen wearing ribbon wristbands featuring the phrase, “Love the stillness of life.”
