A man was shot Monday afternoon in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 19-year-old was in the 1000 block of West 88th Street about 1:30 p.m. when he was shot in the shoulder, police said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
