A man was shot Monday afternoon in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 27-year-old was in the 1400 block of North Spaulding about 1:30 p.m. when he was shot in the leg, police said.

He was taken to Presence Saint Mary Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
