Man shot on Near West Side

A man was shot Wednesday evening on the Near West Side.

The 35-year-old man was shot in the left knee about 7:35 p.m. in the 100 block of South Rockwell, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala, citing preliminary information.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, Zala said.

The shooting was possibly a drive-by attack, police said.
