“Fox and Friends” co-hosts Steve Doocy, Anna Koolman and Brian Kilmeade were accused of making light of the Ray Rice assault case.

It’s been a tough couple of days for the on-air team at Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” morning show. First they were accused of making light of Ray Rice assaulting his then-fiancee. Then show co-host Brian Kilmeade’s apology on Tuesday was dissed all over social media, as seeming to be less than genuine.

It all started when a discussion of the now-infamous elevator video TMZ released — leading to Rice’s indefinite suspension from the NFL — included “Fox and Friends’” Steve Doocy noting Rice’s then-fiancee Janay Palmer “still married him.”

Kilmeade included a reference to Rihanna going back to Chris Brown, after he had physically abused her, adding, “I think the message is, take the stairs.”

That comment in particular ignited a huge firestorm online, with many people furious Kilmeade seemed to trivialize the seriousness of spousal abuse.

As for Kilmeade, on Tuesday he addressed viewers by saying, “Domestic abuse is a very serious issue to us. I can assure you.”
