There are many interesting stories about Wade Boggs.

The superstitious Hall of Famer ate chicken before every game; woke up at the same time every day; took batting practice at 5:17 p.m.; played an entire season with one pop out; and, had the affair with Margo Adams that made national headlines.

But of all the Boggsy stories, the most legendary probably involve his beer-drinking. Was it 50 or 64 beers that Boggs would regularly throw down on cross-country flights?

Well, the legend has now grown to 107. That’s right, one-oh-seven, according to Charlie Day, the star of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

Appearing on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Day claims Boggs verified the exact count. In fact, the “ghost of Wade Boggs” appears on the season opener of Day’s hit show.

That still leaves Boggs one beer short of Andre the Giant, whom Hulk Hogan claims drank 108 beers in 45 minutes.
