These days, you can add a little macha and spirulina to your smoothie, or pick up some tortillas loaded with chia seeds. But what are these ingredients used at so many health food restaurants and juice bars?

The folks over at Eater put together an awesome explainer video about what these 10 “healthy” powders, seeds and berries are — and why some believe they are good for you.

Some are more familiar, like cacao and macha green tea powder; others (like macha, mesquite or spirulina) not so much.

We’re not saying they are healthy, or do what they claim to do, but you should know what they are before you pick up that goji berry granola.
