A man was injured in a South Shore drive-by shooting late Friday afternoon.

The 18-year-old was on the street about 4:45 p.m. in the 7800 block of South Coles when someone opened fire from a red vehicle, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

He took himself to South Shore Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, Lemmon said.
