Stun gun used to steal woman's cellphone on South Loop CTA platform

Police have released video surveillance photos of a suspect who threatened a woman with a stun gun to rob her of a cellphone last week on a South Loop CTA platform.

Police said about 2:38 p.m. on Friday, Jan, 23, the victim was transferring from the Red Line to the Green Line at the Roosevelt stop at 1167 S. State St. when the suspect displayed the “Taser” and demanded her phone.

The woman, “fearful for her safety,” gave him the phone and he ran away, an alert from police said.

The suspect is described as a black male 20-30, 5-foot-7 to 6-foot and 140-175 pounds with a medium complexion, according to police.
