A man was critically injured in a drive-by shooting Friday evening in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The 40-year-old was in a car with another person about 6:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Wells when a white vehicle pulled alongside them and someone opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

The 40-year-old was shot in the back of the head and the right wrist, Lemmon said.

The other person in the car drove him to Saint Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
