The Bears will interview Titans vice president of player personnel Lake Dawson for their vacant general manager position on Tuesday, league sources told the Sun-Times.

The former Notre Dame star and NFL wide receiver has been with the Titans since 2007 and was promoted from director of pro personnel in 2011. He had worked for the Seahawks before then, starting as a pro personnel assistant in 2001.

Dawson’s interview will start a busy week for Bears chairman George McCaskey, president Ted Phillips and consultant Ernie Accorsi. The team has reportedly scheduled an interview with Chiefs director of player personnel Chris Ballard, considered by many to be the favorite to land the GM job, on Wednesday.

Texans pro personnel director Brian Gaine is scheduled to interview, too, perhaps as early as Tuesday.

The team would prefer to hire a GM before a coach, and figure to want both before the start of Senior Bowl activities in two weeks.
