Man shot in neck on West Side

A man was shot in the neck in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on Thursday evening.

The 27-year-old was shot about 8:10 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Carroll, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Zala said.

The circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately known.
