Authorities are looking for a man wanted for robbing and battering the mother of his children in northwest Indiana.

Felony charges of armed robbery and domestic battery were filed Friday morning against 26-year-old James R. Youngblood of Gary, according to a statement from Gary police. He’s also charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and battery.

The charges stem from a Nov. 10 incident in the 4100 block of Louisiana Street in Gary, during which Youngblood battered the mother of his children while armed, police said. He had a weapon visible but did not use it.

Youngblood was not in custody as of Friday morning, police said. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Det. Sgt. William Fazekas at (219) 881-1210.
