A woman and her boyfriend have been charged with breaking into her ex-husband’s home and kidnapping his daughter Wednesday afternoon in northwest suburban Elgin.

Officers were called to the home in the 1300 block of Inverness Drive about 3:45 p.m. after 29-year-old Nallely Hernandez-Dominguez entered her ex-husband’s house and injured him during an argument over child custody, Elgin police said in a statement.

During the argument, Hernandez-Dominguez’s current boyfriend, 27-year-old Marco Morales-Guallpa, grabbed the 7-year-old girl and took her into a vehicle outside, police said. He and Hernandez-Dominguez then drove off in an attempt to hide the girl from her father, who has sole custody.

Detectives found the couple and the girl later that night, according to police. The girl was returned to her father and the suspects were taken into custody.

Hernandez-Dominguez was charged with one count of home invasion and aggravated kidnapping, police said. Morales-Guallpa was also charged with aggravated kidnapping.

They were both ordered held without bond at the Cook County Jail Saturday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
