WASHINGTON – GOP presidential hopeful John Kasich hits Chicago and the northern suburbs on Monday to fundraise and stump at the Billy Goat Tavern the day before a GOP debate in Milwaukee.

Kasich, the Ohio governor, makes the stop at the Goat at 4 p.m CST to hold what his campaign is calling “a send-off rally in Chicago on the day before the fourth Republican primary debate in Milwaukee.”

In September, the last time Kasich was in town, he ate a hot dog at Portillo’s in River North, joined by Portillo’s CEO Keith Kinsey Ohio’s Department of Natural Resources Director Jim Zehringer.

Stopping for a photo-op at the Billy Goat Tavern, on lower Michigan Ave., is becoming something of a ritual for a candidate who is looking for a quick pop at a telegenic place convenient for news outlets in town.
