DETROIT — The Ford Motor Co. Fund is making a $100,000 donation to Detroit-area food pantries that will feed more than 7,000 babies for two weeks.

The foundation of the Dearborn-based automaker on Tuesday plans to provide seven pallets of infant formula. They will go to agencies and pantries affiliated with Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Ford Mobile Food Pantry.

Six Ford vans will be filled with the donated formula as well as diapers collected by employees.

Officials are scheduled to gather for a morning announcement at Gleaners’ Detroit Warehouse and Distribution Center.
