A male exposed himself to two women in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side in less than an hour Monday morning, police said.

About 8:35 a.m., a 38-year-old woman was walking alone in the 3000 block of North Mason when a Hispanic male, between 16 and 18 years old, walked up and tried to “engage her in a conversation of a sexual nature,” according to a community alert issued by Chicago Police.

After trying to talk to her, he exposed his penis and continued to walk south on Mason, police said.

About 9:40 a.m., a 36-year-old woman was walking south in the 2200 block of North Mango when the male walked up to her and, from behind, grabbed her buttocks and groin, police said.

After the woman turned around to face him, he pulled his pants down and began masturbating, police said. The woman ran to a residence for safety as the male walked eastbound on Palmer.

Police said the male is 5-foot-7 and weighs 135 to 170 pounds. He has a light complexion, brown hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on the male is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8261.
