A man was shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side early Wednesday.

About 2:15 a.m., the 21-year-old man was walking near 72nd and Green streets when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

He was shot in the lower back area and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
