A south suburban man charged with shooting another man to death last year on the Far South Side has been arrested in Miami.

Dominique Parkman, 24, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

Parkman shot 22-year-old Jauan Lewis multiple times in the 11600 block of South Vincennes about 3 p.m. on May 23, 2013, police said. Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.

Parkman, of the 2400 block of West 23rd Street in Blue Island, was arrested in Miami on Feb. 24, according to police.

He was extradited to Chicago on Monday and is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
