Ramp closings set through late summer for Mannheim Road near O'Hare

A series of ramp closings is planned for the Mannheim Road interchange near O’Hare Airport.

Here’s a rundown of how drivers will be affected by the work, which is part of a reconstruction project from Irving Park to Higgins roads, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation:

  • Southbound Mannheim Road traffic will be moved onto the new northbound pavement between Zemke Boulevard and Irving Park Road.
  • The ramp from westbound I-190 to southbound Mannheim Road will be closed Monday.
  • The ramp from southbound Mannheim Road to eastbound I-190 will be closed Wednesday.
  • Skyline Drive from eastbound I-190 to southbound Mannheim Road will be closed March 23.

There will be posted detour routes.

The ramps are scheduled to open, weather permitting, by late summer, with the project anticipated to be completed by December 2015, according to IDOT.
