Hot on the heels of yesterday’s news that Mr. T will be launching a home renovation show later this year on the DIY cable network, now comes word that another famous Chicagoan, Jim Belushi, is slated to star in his own DIY show “Building Belushi.”

Production has begun on the six-episode series that will follow Jim and his team of experts as they build a riverfront retreat cabin on 13 acres of a former 1930s Elks picnic ground near the Rogue River in Eagle Point, Oregon. The series is slated to air later this year.

In a statement, Belushi said “he is looking forward to unwinding on the river with friends and family. After all these years in show business, it’s time for me to build something new of my own. This place is miles away from show business, but it’s still going to be all Belushi — raising the roof, raising hell and going rogue on the Rogue River.”
