Two men shot in West Garfield Park

Two men were shot Saturday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The men, 19 and 20, were walking in the 4400 block of West Monroe about 9:20 p.m. when they heard gunfire and realized they had been shot, police said.

The 19-year-old man was shot in the arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital, while the 20-year-old was shot in the foot and took himself to Stroger, police said. Both of their conditions had stabilized.

A police source said the 19-year-old man is a documented gang member.
