A man was shot during a home invasion early Sunday in the Riverdale neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 34-year-old man was inside his home in the 13200 block of South Eberhart about 1:30 a.m. when someone knocked on the door, police said.

The man answered, and the suspect forced his way inside, announced a robbery and shot the resident, police said.

The suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

The victim was shot multiple times and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized.
