A man and woman were shot in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side early Sunday.

The two were outside in the 6100 block of South California about 2:15 a.m. when shots were fired from a gray van, police said.

A 33-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the head and drove himself to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. A 23-year-old woman was shot in the leg and was taken by ambulance to Christ.

Both of their conditions had stabilized.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
