Man shot in Auburn Gresham

A man was shot early Sunday in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The 24-year-old man was walking in the 8700 block of South Wood at 1:55 p.m. when someone got out of a light-colored van and fired multiple shots, police said. The shooter got back in the van and fled.

The man was shot multiple times and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.

A police source said the victim is a documented gang member.
