A DuPage County Board member was arrested on a DUI charge earlier this month near his west suburban home.

Paul G. Eckhoff was stopped at 12:11 a.m. March 3 near the intersection of Manchester Road and Beverly Street, near his home in the 200 block of North Erie, Wheaton Police Chief Mark Field said.

He was charged with a misdemeanor count of DUI, and cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, Field said.

Eckhoff is a member of the DuPage County Board, Field confirmed.

A lawyer, Eckhoff goes by the name Grant Eckhoff professionally, according to his website. He is a Republican representing Wheaton, Glen Ellyn and other municipalities in County Board District 4.

He is scheduled to next appear in court April 8 on the DUI charge, which involves the alleged consumption of alcohol, court records show.
