Three people were shot while riding in a vehicle in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Monday night.

The three — two women and a man — were in a minivan stopped at a stop sign in the 4100 block of West Maypole about 9:20 p.m. when a silver sedan pulled up behind them and someone inside opened fire, police said.

All three were treated at Stroger Hospital. One woman, 21, was shot in the abdomen and back and listed in critical condition. The man, 19, was shot in the right shoulder, while the other woman — also 21 — was shot in the head. Their conditions had both stabilized, police said.
